Consistency is key.

We all need it.

Most of us know what to do to get what we want.

We have an idea of our goals, and what it will take to get there.

But then most people just don’t do it.

To lose weight we all know we need to eat less and eat better.

To get strong and fit we all know it’s working out.

But most people will not do it, and if they do, it’s on and off. Start and stop.

Have you experienced this?

You make a goal and a commitment to be better, it lasts for a few days and then you stop.

What happened?

This is extremely common.

It comes down to discipline and there are some things that can help you develop this skill.

Do you truly see the power of staying consistent? Even just for a few months? I’ll give an example to help put things into perspective for you.

Say you want to read a book a month, sounds daunting. Now imagine simply reading 10 pages a day. If you commit to reading 10 pages a day and do it, consistently, that’s roughly 300 pages a month. Most books are less than that. Now you’re reading a book a month.

Break things down into smaller more manageable actions. Then, do those without fail. That is what will get you the farthest over time. You can reach large goals with small, consistent, actions.

Something else that helps develop discipline is being around others who are there to help you and, maybe more importantly, hold you accountable. In other words, a community.

When you are in a community, you are surrounded by others who are committed to following through and who are there to help hold you stay accountable to your goals, this causes your likelihood of success to go up dramatically. Making consistency, accountability, and following through on your goals a normal part of your environment will give you a jump in your progression of discipline.

I just created a group made exactly for this. To ensure that you follow through on what you say you will do and achieve your goals.
